In the history of world football, a ‘White Card’ was shown for the first time in women’s football match between Sporting Lisbon and Benfica in Portugal. It was shown to medical teams of both the clubs (in recognition of assisting a person who fell ill), as it is designed for showing recognition for acts of fair play.
For the past few months the news of lay-offs of Tech. workforce is doing the rounds across the Globe. Many are of the opinion that organisations are putting axe on the workforce (in some cases) superfluously which is unfair. Until recently when the hiring for Tech. roles was in high demand, most of the organisations were struggling to hire people with right mind-set (who wanted to do good work instead of running for multiple offers). As the demand for people with different tech. skills was high, candidates were taking up multiple offers and at the end disappointing many organisations at the last moment (in many cases just before the scheduled joining date) by declining the joining offer.
It is a two way street wherein to expect a fair play from either of the party (be it the Organisation or the Candidate), the other party also should play justly to ask for a ‘White Card’.
